Description

The Layout Artist will work with Managing Editor, Guest Editor, artists and proofreaders on all aspects of the prepress production of WynterGreene, as well as getting final layout to the printing company and ensuring that a quality product is printed.


Responsibilities

Arrange articles, graphics and advertising in WynterGreene as per layout template

Find clip-art or illustrations for articles with no commissioned artwork

Ensure the quality of illustrations and images

Ensure that illustrations and images used do not violate any copyright regulations

Work with the Managing Editor to ensure the look of the publication conforms to WynterGreene standards

Submit layout in pdf. format to Managing Editor by the appropriate deadline

Incorporate changes from proofreaders and Managing Editor into layout and resubmit layout to Managing Editor for approval

Forward desk top publishing (DTP) file to printing company by established deadline and arrange for the printing of the appropriate number of copies of each issue on the appropriate type of paper

Ensure the quality of each printed issue of WynterGreene

Qualifications

Self-sufficient and able to meet deadlines

Have reliable access to email able to receive attachments up to 10 GB

Proficient with Adobe InDesign

Have reliable access to a computer equipped with Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Word and pdf creation software
